The single malt from the Macallan Distillery at Easter Elchies produces one of the most desired and the most collectable whisky in the world today. The distillery has the smallest stills on Speyside, yet by having 21 of them it has a large production capacity. After strenuous marketing efforts in the 1970s and 1980s it gained an almost cult-like following amongst whisky aficionados, one that endures to this day.
